Practical Considerations
Indicator Logic
TTW-VolumeFlow identifies two types of market conditions:
Bullish Volume Conditions are identified when:
- Volume exceeds the average volume by the specified multiplier
- Close price is above open price by at least the ATR multiplier value
- If ATR Trailing is enabled, the current trend context is considered
Bearish Volume Conditions are identified when:
- Volume exceeds the average volume by the specified multiplier
- Close price is below open price by at least the ATR multiplier value
- If ATR Trailing is enabled, the current trend context is considered
The ATR Trailing Stop component provides trend context by calculating dynamic levels based on ATR. This helps traders understand the broader market environment when analyzing volume information.
Important Note
The TTW-VolumeFlow indicator is designed to be used as a supplementary tool within a trader's individual strategy. It does not provide direct trading signals or advice. Every trader must act based on their own knowledge and experience. The indicator simply provides additional market information that traders can incorporate into their own analysis and decision-making process.
Practical Applications
TTW-VolumeFlow can be used in various analytical scenarios:
- Volume Trend Analysis: Identify when there are buyers or sellers following your position
- Volume Analysis: Monitor unusual volume activity in relation to price movement
- Market Structure: Identify potential areas of interest based on volume behavior
- Volatility Assessment: Understand price movement in the context of recent volatility
Best Practices
- Start with default settings and adjust gradually based on the specific instrument and timeframe
- Use longer candle intervals for lower-frequency analysis and shorter intervals for higher-frequency analysis
- Consider increasing the Volume Multiplier in highly volatile markets to focus on more significant volume events
- The ATR Trailing filter provides additional trend context but may be disabled if not needed
- Combine with other indicators and analysis methods for a comprehensive market view
- Remember that this indicator is a supplementary tool and should be used as part of a broader analytical approach
